Take a deep breath and start counting....

That's what I thought when I heard the boys come out of their room and say "Dad...come in our room it's an emergency!!" (We've taught them to say that when they need us to come QUICK!!)

Actually...I think said a silent prayer for patience. See...I had heard them goofing around, but was trying to do about 20 things at the same time in the kitchen so I ignored it...so when I heard them come get Dave...I just knew it wasn't going to be good.

Well...my prayer was answered. I didn't kill them when I found out what the emergency was...

This is a picture of the celing in the boy's room (this picture is actually after I fixed it a little...I was too mad at first to take a picture, and I didn't want them to think I approved of what happened by taking a picture of it)

Their celing is made up of acoustical tiles and my dear sweet Thomas was on Michael's bed (the top bunk) and jumped, and put his head through the celing! *Sigh...this is where I repeat "I love my children, I love my children, I love my children* Technically his head didn't go all the way through...but it's dented in about a half inch or so and the edges of the tile are broken off.

I'm hoping I can fix it with a little glue, caulk, and paint...and if not...I'm sure Michael would love a cool poster of something over his bed :) (it has painters tape on it for now to keep prying fingers from exploring and more little bits of tile from falling down...since our house is old enough that these could be made of asbestos (YIKES)

My children received a very calm yet stern talking to from me, and a punishment that hopefully fit the crime...Dave on the other hand says his head still feels like it is going to explode and his eye keeps twitching.

Oh the joys of having boys :)

Thomas' Birthday

Thomas was very excited to turn 5 this year. I on the other hand had some reservations...I am having a hard time with my kids growing up :(

We surprised him with a room full of orange balloons on the morning of his birthday (Which was April 19th...I know, I know...better late than never). He was so excited and they had a lot of fun with the balloons.

We then had his birthday breakfast...Blueberry muffins, bacon, and orange juice...for future reference...when you put candles in hot muffins...they melt.

His favorite color is Orange. I've honestly never known a child who really loves their favorite color so much. If orange is a choice...he'll take it, toy, fruit snack, crayon, vitamin, the list goes on and on...

So of course, for his birthday...he requested an Orange birthday party...He wanted a cake with sprinkles and a big orange T (he is also excited about learning this year...he loves everything that has to to with letters, numbers or colors) so his cake had to have his favorite letter and favorite color...and the candle he picked out MONTHS ago at the grocery store.

So...who am I do disappoint?!

I love that a few orange balloons, some orange crepe paper and some orange frosting is all it takes to make my boy happy.

Then of course there were the presents...Another good thing about being 5 is that you are as excited about a box of fruit snacks as you are about the orange camera you've been wishing for for 2 months :)

Except when you're a 5 year old boy...the cute summer clothes that Grandma gave you get tossed to the side (literally) without hardly any acknowledgement. (he really did sigh and toss them to the side...LOL) Maybe if they were orange instead of red and blue he would have cared more...probably not :) wait...if they were underware he would have cared...because underware are VERY funny when you're 5!!

We spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying the new toys and the yummy cake (see the pie at the bottom...that is a delectible strawberry rubarb pie that the adults got to enjoy with homemade vanilla ice cream...YUMMY!!!...but the cake was good too I was told:)

The new camera was (and still is) a BIG hit...I highly recommend it...picture quality isn't great...but he has stopped playing with mine and has so much fun with all the features (more than my camera has)

I LOVE YOU THOMAS!!
let's take this year of being 5 slow...PLEASE!!

****************

This post is just to clear my last wierd title off of those of your blogs that show titles. I went un-private to change it...and I'll change it back private after this....just got sick of seeing my dumb easter post title on everyone's blog.

But to make it worth your while...I'll include this cute pic of my not-so-little-anymore baby in his new exersaucer!!

That was worth clicking here for right?!

I also promise (to myself and you all) that I will have new posts up soon about birthdays, vacations, and my baby's first haircut!! (how's that for a teaser :)
