30 weeks
Oh, and just in case you were wondering, everything is going just fine with this pregnancy so far. No high blood pressure (yet, that's been a problem for me in the past) no gestational diabetes (wahoo!! I was going to be sad to miss out on Christmas treats!) and relatively little swelling. My nice waddling walk is in full force and I have to do way less than I would like (don't plan on my house being clean if you drop by unannounced)
I have also realized that in about 2 months this pregnancy will be over and I will have a BABY in my house again...this thought freaks me out a little bit...LOL. But I have been getting ready and bought some tiny long sleeved onesies, and some warm outfits (I'm worried about the baby getting cold can you tell!)
Now to decide on a name....any ideas :)

A new tradition
Between now and christmas, the boys are going to go through all their toys and books and pick some to put in a big sack (if I get adventurous, I'll make one, if not we'll tie a garbage bag w/ a pretty bow) then we'll place it in the front room on Christmas eve so that Santa can pick it up to give to kids who need them (because everyone knows Santa is the BEST at knowing who needs something on Christmas eve.)
The boys seem to be excited about it...we'll see how it goes!! oh, and it is o.k for mom's to help load the bags while boys are at school too :) (and maybe toys that don't get picked up when asked may get added to the bag too!!) oooh the possibilities!!

There should be a warning label...
something to the effect of "Warning...Pregnant women who watch this movie (and the 20 or so hallmark commercials durning it) may experience a higher than normal volume of tears!!"
So...I'm taking the responsibility to tell you all...do not watch Hallmark hall of fame movies while you are pregnant...not ony is the movie heartwrenching...but you will also be exposed to an excessive amount of hallmark commercials!! TOO MUCH FOR THIS BALL OF EMOTIONS TO HANDLE!!
I think they have a deal with the Kleenex company!!
But...Head of the Class was a good movie!! (at least I think that's what I think it was called...there was too much sniffing and blurry eyes in my room to be sure!!)

Thankful Thursday
Here are 5 things I am thankful for this week.
1.My loving husband and how hard he works
2. My warm house (amazing how a few weeks w/out heat can make you thankful for that!!)
3. Feeling my baby kick and move inside of me...it's my favorite part of being pregnant
4. The silly things my kids say that make me laugh
5. Lower gas prices...this really makes a difference in our budget!!
Wow....that was easy...I challenge you all to do the same thing (either in response to my blog or on your own)

Happy Birthday Mr. Garritson!! Happy Birthday to you!!
I meant to sit down and write this all day yesterday, but never found a solid 10 minutes to do it in...so forgive me for being a day late...but I wanted to dedicate a post to my hubby for his b'day.
I'll start with this picture.
For those who don't know...my husband is obsessed with a well manicured lawn. I first discovered it when we were taking care of the lawns in the apartments. he would take great care to make a great design in the lawn and then go to our upstairs windows to look out on it and admire the mowing lines. I think he wanted to be a baseball field groundskeeper at one point in his life, and is trying to fulfill his dream w/ his own lawns the best he can.
This was probably the last mowing of the season, and no...we can't just do a quick mow to pick up the leaves, we have to mow a diagonal pattern in it. It makes me laugh...but what makes me laugh even more is that Michael has the same problem. He told Dave he should mow it back and forth, then up and down so it would look like a checker board and they could play checkers on the lawn!! Like father like son I guess!!
Hope you had a good birthday Dave...I hope to be more successful at celebrating it next year!!
XOXO
P.S. feel free to drop over to Dave's blog (on my sidebar) to drop him a birthday wish...his blog isn't very exciting (unless you're a hopelessly devoted New Orleans Saints fan)...but he likes it :)

Just a vent (wish I had a vent)
Talk about fresh country air.
I can hardly wait to say "Hi, Welcome to our Home...sorry about the freaking TERRIBLE smell!!!!" It seriously is so bad my eyes water when I walk outside!! Guess they'll be glad for their home in the city!! (Byron and Natalie...be glad you couldn't make it...maybe you should wait to come until the snow falls so that you don't have to smell my lovely yard!!!)
BLECH!!!! P.U. Just be glad you can't smell over Blogger!!! (I'll spare you any pics too...who needs to see a dump truck with a tiller thing on the back covered with steaming green POO!!!)

Just wanted to let you all know...
he was wiggling his little arm out of his blankie, so I went to wrap it up and he snatched my finger as fast as he could. Talk about relfexes!!
The nurse called him "spunky" and we all laughed when she told us the story about him throwing his binki out of the isolette when she was trying to put him down for the night. (I'll leave the rest of the details to Sherry to tell)
It was a great night...holding a baby and crunching hospital ice...doesn't get better than that!!
Love you little Matthew!!

Lesson Learned?
Anyway...when I was cleaning out the pocket of Thomas' church shirt...I found these little magnets. Now having used them before, I knew they were from the church library. Great. My son steals from church!!
When he got home from preschool I confronted him about it. Here's how the conversation went...
Me: "Thomas, I found these in your pocket. Where did they come from?"
Thomas: "I got them at church."
M: "Thomas! who do these belong to?!"
T: "Heavenly Father."
M: "Why did you take them?"
T: "I liked them and I asked Heavenly Father, but he didn't say anything."
(how do you argue with that?!?!)
M: "Well, Heavenly Father wants them left at church so that everyone can use them. Do you think we should take them back?"
T: "Yes, but only if there is no one else there."
So...I guess I have to teach a lesson on Stealing for Family Home Evening, or should it be on Prayer, or on Repentance?!
I love my son and am greatful that he makes me laugh (even though stealing magnets from church isn't funny...but at least he asked...right?!?!)

All in all a great day
The day started off by getting another level 2 ultrasound at the hospital. I had to go back so they could get better pictures of the things that weren't developed enough 3 weeks ago. The dr's exacts words were "everything looks perfect" It doensn't get better than that. We got to watch the baby wiggle all over, saw his perfect heart, brain, spine, kidneys...at one point he kept opening and closing his mouth...it was so cool. I asked the Dr. how big he is. he said about 6 inches and 3/4 pound. Isn't it amazing that something so small can be so complete and perfect!!
Here's my perfect little boy...sorry about the quality...it's a picture of a picture, but it gives you an idea. I think he has a nose just like Thomas!!
The day ended as fun as it started. The boys were playing outside, and long story short. Thomas and Michael TOOK OFF Thomas' training wheels (yes, they did it themselves) and Michael started teaching Thomas how to ride without training wheels.
At first Michael would hold onto the handlebars, let go and amazingly Thomas would go 3 or 4 feet by himself then bail out on the grass. (sorry the pics are so bad, my batteries were almost dead, but I couldn't miss the moment!!)
But after about 20 minutes, Michael just steadied him at the first and Thomas would ride all over the grass. (grass is softer to fall on you know)
They were both so proud of themselves. Michael said "That's what I've always wanted to teach him". Thomas crashed plenty of times, but never cried...just jumped up and rode again!!
Thomas felt so grown up. And he is darn it *sniff, sniff* where did my baby go?!?!

me...unspectacular?!?!
1. I am currently suffering from insomnia...as if pregnancy doesn't make you tired enough...now I have to deal with this (luckily my dr. said I could take unisom)
2. Dave just pulled his shoulder cheering for a football game (he had to be quiet since the boys were falling asleep...so he put his usual loud exuberance into silent actions) poor baby...LOL.
3. Dave will be at a conference for most of the week...if you stop by my house we will probably be having cereal for dinner. I hate making dinner because my kids are so darn picky...I hate going to the effort just to have to sit through an hour of whining to get them to eat it (they are getting better...but still)
4. I have no motivation to finish laying our new floor (maybe the insomnia has something to do with that)
5. When I sit down to think about it...I am a little freaked out that we are having another baby...I pulled out baby clothes today....I can't belive my boys were ever that small!!! (the socks are SOOO tiny) I am excited...just scared to start all over again!!
6. I am glad it is getting cold so my lawn doesn't require so much work...phew...yardwork is hard work!!
7. ooohhh...I forgot...I do love a deal...I actually get a high from seeing my albertson's receipts! and when I got a 30% off on my Kohls ad...I felt like I won the lottery (then started christmas shopping!!)
so there you go...unspectacular facts about me...if you want to do it...you're tagged!!

An Early Suprise
Last week I went to a Dr. appointment and he thought my amniotic fluid looked a little low so he wanted me to go in for an in depth ultrasound at the hospital. At first I wasn't concerned because my dr. is a bit of an alarmist, but the more I thought about it, the more worried I got (just so you know...a Dr. who is an alarmist and a patient who is a worrier are NOT a great combination!!)
I made the mistake of going online and seeing what it might mean that I had low amniotic fluid...well I learned it could mean a vast array of things from my being dehydrated to my baby having no kidneys and no chance of survival. I spent a lot of time in tears, and a lot of time on my knees, and a lot of time drinking water!!
Two days later I went in for my ultrasound. Dave was able to take work off to be with me and I was so glad...I truly was so scared.
The ultrasound started and everything was perfect. My fluid levels were perfect, everything about the baby was perfect, and we found out we're having another BOY!!! I was so excited!!! I was laying on the table looking at my baby on the screen with tears streaming down my face. I have never meant it more when I say I don't care if we're having a boy or a girl as long as it's healthy.
So...there you have it...I'm going to be a mom of three boys. I am beyond happy...Dave is thrilled (he has a golf foursome now...and won't go broke with me buying girl clothes) the boys are very excited (Michael jumped up and down when we told him)
I am truly blessed. I've heard there's a special place in heaven for moms of boys...I sure hope so :)

Thomas' First Day of School
He was especially excited about his NEW ORANGE backpack. He loves orange...I've never known a kid so obsessed with a color!!
Here he is saying goodby to his best friends Stripey and Tiger. He told me that I could play with the cats while he was gone so I wouldn't be lonely. (I know, I know my porch needs to be powerwashed!!)
Isn't he cute!!
Just before we left he said "Mom...I'm NOT going to miss you while I'm at school." I thought...good cuz I won't miss you either :) Which is only partly true...I sure do look forward to picking him up at 11:30. Part of that is becasue I do miss him, and the other part is that he is SO excited to tell me about his day. Already he LOVES his class. In fact, last night as we were going to bed, he came to me with a sad face and said "Mom, I miss my pleschool fliends" (he can't do "R" blends very well so I thougt I'd type it how he says it).
It makes me so happy to see my boy so happy...there truly is more to school than learning letters and numbers!!

TLTOLTOLI
(that's me with a big no smoking sign drawn around me...LOL) Think he was mad at me?
See I had grounded him from going outside (because I caught him peeing on the front lawn...sigh) so this is how he decided to tell me that he was mad at me. It took everything I had to not laugh. He was so serious when he brought this in the kitchen to show me.
I told him that the picture hurt my feelings. He quickly crumpled it up and went to make another picture. ( I took this from the garbage to take a picture of it)
He worked for quite awhile on the next picture that he brought to me with a huge smile on his face.
He even took it back from me once to add the sky. (I made him add his name because I love how he writes it) I told him that the picture made me feel so happy. He said "since I gave you a nice picture can I go outside now?" Good plan little man, but it didn't work (well...it almost did, but don't tell him!!) He remained grounded for the rest of the night. I'm sure he'll be up extra early because he knows he can go outside tomorrow.
Being a mom is great!!

"The First Day of First Grade" or "The day Mom should have stayed in bed!"
Here is my big first grader anxiously awaiting the bus (he had been ready for over an hour at this time...I'm thinking this won't last)
He was so excited to be able to ride the bus. I really wanted to take him to school, but he would have NOTHING to do with that. After I'd asked him for about the 10th time he said...in all his 6 year old disgust "Mom...this is the first time I've been able to ride the bus twice in one day...I'm VERY excited" o.k. arguement over.
I did convince him that I could come to school and take a picture of him in his class (to which he said..."o.k. but then leave") so...here's the picture I took at school...
....if you look closely, he is not very happy. Now this isn't that I was there...but that I FORGOT to send a stuffed animal for him today and forgot to help him make some binocculars for the first day of class. He was in tears. And so was I. First day of first grade and already I failed him. So I rushed home to get his stuffed animal and called grandma to help me make a pair of binocculars. Thankfully she had a paper towel roll and was able to get started on the binocculars before I got home.
Well...we found the stuffed animal and grandma met us at the house with the most fabulous pair of binocculars EVER (thanks so much mom). I rushed them back to school, and Michael's face lit up. I was a happy mom (who was very glad I followed him to school today even though I still feel like a failure for forgetting this important thing)
Well...the day went quickly and I thought I would make some Chocolate Chip cookies for my boy to enjoy when he came home from school...cuz that's what good mom's do right? Well...I shouldn't have tried so hard...sigh...
I was making the cookies and then got a phone call and forgot to put the eggs in before the flour..CRAP...but I didn't think it would make that much difference, so I mixed up the eggs and put them in with the flour and all looked good until I stuck my finger in to take a taste....OH MY GOSH...my tastebuds were met with the most awful taste I have ever tasted I spit the dough out in the sink and tried to wash the taste out of my mouth (my throat still seizes up thinking about it)
I couldn't figure out what was wrong...certainly putting things in in the wrong order couldn't have caused THIS!! well...after some investigation...I solved the mystery (I'm so embarassed to even put this)
I put in EPSOM salts instead of SUGAR...um yah...yucky (and crunchy) I had a baggie of both on the counter (a small fact that I had forgotten) and put the wrong one in. I warn you NEVER, NEVER, NEVER make this mistake.
Well...Michael came home (to no cookies) and was so excited to tell me about his day!!
Lunch was "FANTASTIC" and he ate "almost" all of it. Recess was wonderful and he has a new bandaid from the nurses office to show for it. and the bus ride was wonderful!!
I'm so happy his day went well.
So...we decide to make some more cookies...I measure and check every ingredient carefully and Michael helps mix and bake them and they turn out tasty...but FLAT as pancakes. (I think I may have left out the Baking Soda) Michael said and I quote "these cookies look kind of wierd mom"
**Sigh** Why do I even try :( I think next time I'll pick up some oreos at the store!!
But besides all that, Michael had a wonderful day...and that's all that matters.

Bear Lake 2008
Everything we did was on the resort (except for when we went to get Dave his Raspberry Shake)
The boys really loved the HUGE playground that was there. These pictures don't come close to showing how big it was, but you can see the lake in the background on some.
Crazy Boys on Slides
My climbing monkey (this is Thomas for those who don't know)
And Michael on the Merry-go-round (or whatever you call those spinning things) The boys would spin so fast on this that they would walk crooked for 5 minutes (made me sick to watch them)
They also spent a lot of time riding scooters (that the company has at the condo) around the resort...we only had two scraped knees (that's saying something for us
We decided to spend one day down at the beach...here are the boys with a loaded wagon (full of stuff that was there for us to use) heading to the beach
And here's some pictures of playing in the water and sand...I think they think they were at the ocean...they had a lot of fun jumping waves and making sand castles...I wonder how long it will be before buckets and shovels don't entertain them and we have to rent Jet-skis and boats?!
I'm pretty sure that in this last picture, Michael was saying..."Mom...enough is enough...we want to play not pose for pictures" I only posted 4 of the 30 I took :)
Another fun thing we did while we were there was to go miniature golfing. The course was just a small on on the resort, but it sure was fun!!
Thomas had perfected his own type of golf swing (and there was NO getting him to change it...Dave tried)
And Michael got two hole-in-ones (is that how you say that) needless to say he was pretty excited...he really is a good golfer!!
And of course one of the best things about the vacation was the HUGE jetted tub...the boys enjoyed it a lot...and discovered that when you turn the jets on...the bubbles get HUGE!!!
We also went swimming in the pool a couple of times...I forgot to take my camera. The boys had lots of fun and scared their dad by jumping of the diving board into the 9 ft. deep water (he was there to catch them/pull them up.
All in all it was a great weekend and a wonderful place to stay (especially because it was FREE). This was the view from the sliding doors...beautiful huh!! Who wants to come next year?!

Calendar Challenge
When I changed my calendar over to August on Friday this is the picture that greeted me. (in case you can't read it...it says "Do one thing every day to make you happy"
So I've been looking at this for 5 days and decided it was time to really do this. I really need this right now. I'm sure I'm not alone, so all you readers do it with me.
I'm going to really challenge myself to do something specific to make me happy each day and see what a difference it will make. They may be serious, they may be silly...but I'll share what they are. Please feel free to share what you do (maybe it will give me an idea!!) don't forget to come back each day to see what I did (and to tell me what you did)
TUESDAY: I put a playlist on my blog and found some fun songs that made me smile (check out the Mormon Rap and I'm a Mormon...good memories!!)
WEDNESDAY: While Dave put the kids to bed I gave my self a pedicure complete with bowl of hot soapy water and pink polish at the end (this is the first time I've painted my toes this summer...sad huh)
THURSDAY: I'm going to an Enrichment meeting to learn more about canning and to enjoy a salad tasting table (and hopefully the boys will be asleep when I get home)....oh...I'm also getting a haircut woo hoo!!!
FRIDAY: We had an olympics party with the boys...it was a lot of fun and I'll do a blog about it later.
SATURDAY: Well...it was our Anniversary today...didn't do too much exciting but we did have fish sticks for dinner (inside joke...anyone heard that commedian) and Ice Cream for dessert
SUNDAY: Ate a scone shaped like a moose (thanks Buddy)
MONDAY: We're heading to Bear Lake!! I'll be sure to take lots of pics :)
O.K. who's with me?
***This has been fun guys...Thanks :)

Blue Ribbon Boys
Well the day finally came, the boys had entered their items in the fair. We went to see what they got. I had prepped them that even a white ribbon was good but low and behold they both got blue ribbons!! They were so excited and so cute slapping each other high fives for their accomplishments.
