Another Surprise!!

ROBERT IS GETTING HIS FIRST TOOTH!!!
--
(Ironically, it is the same tooth that Thomas just lost! Also, I know the picture is a little wierd looking...it's my finger pulling down his bottom lip so you can see his gums...I'd like to see anyone else do better :)!!)
--
He's been drooly and chewing on everything for awhile...so I've been suspecting this was coming, and checking his gums...but the other boys acted like they were teething for months before they got teeth so I wasn't expecting much. But today he was chewing on my finger and I FELT SOMETHING!! So I looked a little closer and saw a little hole in his gums and could feel and see a little tooth!!
--
Now I feel bad for being frustrated that he hasn't been sleeping well lately...no wonder...he was in pain!! Poor baby!!
--
Sadly, today he also scooted himself about a foot across the floor to get to somthing he wanted to play with...sigh...someone tell my baby to STOP GROWING UP!!! THERE IS NO HURRY!!!

SURPRISE!!

THOMAS LOST A TOOTH!!!

Yes he is barely 5 years old, nope...he hasn't started Kindergarten yet (sigh...see why I'm having a hard time with my kids and them growing up lately...they're doing it TOO FAST!!)

He came up to me last Friday and told me he had a wiggly tooth. I smiled to myself and said to him "wow, you do, come show me!!" (I was sure there was no wiggly tooth and that this was just the start of the wishing and hoping to have a wiggly tooth that starts about now) To my surprise...he not only had a wiggly tooth...it was almost ready to come out!!!

He played with it and played with it and by Saturday it was DEFINATLY ready to come out. He wanted Grandma to pull it and we had to rush up to her house to make sure she got to pull it and that it didn't just fall out on it's own and get swallowed!!

Well, we made it, he was a little shocked at the actual pulling, but it was quick and pretty much painless. He made a little envelope and placed his tooth outside his bedroom door so the tooth fairy could easily find it.

She did find it and brought him something extra special for his first tooth...it was 2 I SPY books, and a DOLLAR!! ...Unfortunately, big brother got to the loot first and tried to show it to Thomas while he was asleep so that he could look at the books himself....that won't happen again (I hope) and Thomas may hide his next tooth under his pillow so that only he can get it in the morning!!

Here's Thomas showing you where the tooth was (and his nice orange tongue from the popsicle he just ate :) He's so proud of his missing tooth...And I'm proud of him...he's such a smart, fun boy!!!

LOVE YOU THOMAS!!

5 months...

WAAAA my baby is 5 months old today...why does he have to grow so big so fast :(

*********************

But first.... since I seem to have forgotten to post them...

I'll do a quick rewind and show you his 2 month pictures (March 13, 2009)

A RARE picture with a tiny binky in his mouth :)

*********************

his 3 months pic

He laughed for the first time on this day (may 13, 2009)...it was for Madi...she helped give him a bath and he laughed and laughed at her saying "paddle duck" (a little toy that was in the tub)

*******************

Here's his 4 month picture...June 13, 2009 (actually there are two...I couldn't resist the pic of him trying to shove both fists in his mouth!! and we couldn't get him to smile...he was too tired!!)

He could roll from his back to his tummy, and was grabbing things with his hands and putting them in his mouth...and putting his hands in his mouth...ALL THE TIME. At his 4 month appointment, he weighed 17 1/2 lbs and was 27 1/2 inches long (90% for weight 95% for height) why oh why do my babies have to grow so big so fast...sigh...his Dr. said we could start some cereal at night, but it didn't really agree with him...but we kept trying

****************

Now the 5 month picture (and I got a camera that will actually capture his smile when I actually take the picture!!)

He can now roll both ways, but isn't going anywhere yet. He has found his feet and is getting better at holding on to things with his hands...he transfered a popsicle stick from one hand to the other today...I thought that was cool!! (don't ask why he had a popsicle stick...come on it's my 3rd kid...at least it's a relatively dull object) He doesn't like to lay down much and tries to sit up. He does what we call "baby crunches" where he lifts up his head and legs at the same time while laying on his back...talk about ab muscles!!!

He has a smile and laugh that melt my heart, but he laughs the most for his brothers...that boy LOVES his brothers...and they feel the same!! He is doing a little better with cereal and slept through the night last night...that has been really hit or miss...I'm hoping for more hits!!

Love you Robert,

Mom :)

Just a note...

The next few posts will not be in chronological order, but in the order that I feel like doing them..I promise to catch up though!!

Robert's First Haircut

June 2, 2009

Think this cute boy needed a haircut?!

I sure did!!

He was born with a headfull of hair and instead of it falling out like babies hair often does...it kept growing and growing and growing.

It was too long to spike up anymore...

And too long to comb down (kinda had that Donald Trump thing going on)

Not to mention the mullet he had going on in the back....definately time for a cut!!

(he does have that good bald spot in the back though from turning his head side to side in bed!)

We set up the baby barber shop and had some fun with the spray bottle and comb before we started. (check out that mohawk!!)

He doesn't look too thrilled does he...well he wasn't. but we made it through...ended up with a great pile of hair

And a baby who still had plenty of hair...but didn't look so silly

Mullet gone...check!!

Donald Trump comb over gone...Check!! (who's that sexy male model in the back...love ya sweetie!!)

Baby sucking on binki after being traumatized by a pair of scissors...check!!

Here's a picture from the next morning when he wasn't so traumatized anymore..but not real thrilled about smiling for the camera either!!

Handsome isn't he!! Sure love this boy!!!!!
